MELAKA, Feb 16 – The Barisan Nasional had nothing to do with the resignation of four Melaka DAP elected representatives from the party last Sunday, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said today.
He said they had stated that their quitting DAP was due to their disatisfaction with the party leadership.
“Our (BN) hands are clean and we had nothing to do with the action of the four DAP (elected) representatives. They acted based on their own principles.
“But I know of more DAP representatives expressing unhappiness on how DAP treats them. What has happened is just the tip of the iceberg,” he said at a press conference after chairing the weekly meeting of the Melaka State Executive Council at the Seri Negeri Complex in Ayer Keroh here.
Idris was asked to comment on a photograph of him with assemblymen Goh Leong San (Duyong) and Lim Jak Wong (Bachang) before their resignation from the DAP that went viral on social media with the allegation that there was collusion with the BN prior to their quitting DAP.
Besides Goh and Lim, another assemblyman, Chin Choon Seong (Kesidang), and Kota Melaka MP Sim Tong Him also resigned from the DAP. – Bernama
