KUALA LUMPUR: The Registrar of Societies (RoS) will not issue further letters on the MIC crisis, its director-general Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah said.
He said he stood by the contents of his June 25 letter to the party secretary-general.
“We will not issue any more statements on the matter as we have a court case with MIC,” he said when contacted.
In the letter, Mohammad Razin stated that he had taken note of several points raised by Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam and his team in their letter of June 17. He said he took note that Dr Subramaniam was carrying out the duties of acting president, and their contention that party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel had lost his membership under Article 91 of the MIC Constitution. The letter also recognised the list of 31 names provided by Dr Subramaniam’s side as the members of the 2009 Interim Central Working Committee (CWC) which is tasked to run the next party elections.
Asked if this meant that he recognised Dr Subramaniam as acting president, Mohammad Razin said that “the letter speaks for itself.”
“We have updated our database relating to the MIC membership and office bearers in accordance with the letter,” he said.
