BANGI, Feb 20 – FELDA scheme managers must be more aggressive and creative when responding to allegations and negative perceptions raised by certain quarters to create a negative impact on the agency, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim. He said with changes in the political landscape, groups closest to the settlers should change their methods of disseminating information, including engaging the social media, to prevent Felda settlers from being influenced by the propaganda being spread. He said there were numerous positive and success stories on Felda but they were not told.

“It is not necessary to explain through a press conference as information could be delivered through various means including videos on FELDA’s success which could later be distributed to the settlers under their respective supervision,” he told a press conference after officiating a Quality Improvement Consultative Committee (JPPK) Seminar here today. The three-day seminar to discuss issues related to the sale and purchase of fresh fruit bunches (BTS) as well as to raise awareness and knowledge of stakeholders on the importance of the BTS was attended by over 800 participants, among them FELDA managers, FELDA Technoplant managers, settler representatives and factory managers. – BERNAMA
