PETALING JAYA: PAS has chosen not to attend the Opposition roundtable talks, despite their appreciation for the invites from PKR leaders Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Selangor Mentri Besar Azmin Ali.

The PAS news organ Harakah Daily reported the party’s deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (pic) as saying that there is no co-operation between PAS and the DAP, or with Amanah.

However, as stressed in the PAS muktamar, PKR is still the party’s political friend in the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.

“PAS is still united with the Opposition on issues involving the rakyat. We also oppose the abuse of power, corruption, and misuse of public funds, especially the 1MDB issue of the Umno-Barisan Government,” he added.

In the meantime, PAS will focus its energy on strengthening the party machinery from all angles in preparation to face Umno and Barisan in the 14th general election.

“Meetings between PAS and PKR will be held from time to time, and as urged by our party president, any issues between both parties will be evaluated,” added Tuan Ibrahim. – The Star
