GEORGE TOWN: Lim Guan Eng has welcomed PAS’ intention to contest in seats held by DAP, telling them to contest his Air Putih seat first.
“I am not surprised as this is only in line with the current PAS’ stand which had become the enemy. It is only within expectation.
“If PAS if so confident to come into DAP stronghold, as it is their right to do in democracy, then we humbly receive the challenge.
“Firstly, I offer them to contest in my constituency Air Putih,” he said in a press conference on Monday.
Several news portals reported PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang as saying that they were planning to contest in seats held by DAP in the next general election.
The move was seen as a counter attack against the newly launched Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) which has showed inclination to contest in seats held by PAS. – The Star
