Palanivel wanting to meet CWC 2009 today deemed ‘illegal’

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25, 2015:

MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel’s intention to call a meeting with the Central Working Committee (CWC) of 2009 in the Pullman Hotel today at 5pm is deemed illegal.MIC deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam told all MIC members that the meeting was illegal as it was called by a “non member”.“I urge innocent members not to be trapped in participating in an illegal meeting,” he said in a press statement.

He said Palanivel lost his membership on the Feb 24 when he took matters to court without first consulting the CWC, which violated the party constitution.“Therefore this is an illegal meeting. I request all members of MIC to ignore all statements about this meeting.“The CWC 2009 recognised by Registrar of Societies has initiated all measures to expedite the conducting of party elections in compliance with ROS’ directions and to quickly bring the party back to normal.

“It is an unfortunate tragedy that some  former leaders of MIC have through their own irresponsible acts brought the party to this unfortunate state.”
