Kuala Lumpur, 14 July 2016 (MyTimes) – MIC youth welcomes the decision of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to sack the lecturer who had made the slides that claimed that Hindus and Sikhs were dirty.
“The slides for the Islamic and Asian Civilisation Studies (TITAS) module should never have been made like that because Hindus and Sikhs are not dirty nor like being dirty.It is not true and was likely made with an intention to ridicule and down grade Hinduism and Sikhism, two ancient religions from the Indian sub-continent.” said the MIC Youth Chief
The university made the decision to terminate the lecturer who was responsible for causing the controversy, according to Higher Education Minister Idris Jusoh.
“We thoroughly support and welcome the decision and hope that such ridiculous statements are never said again, especially from a university that values learning.” added Sivaraajh in a statement today

UTM had said the language used in the slides did not reflect the subject matter’s true content, nor were they endorsed by the Higher Education Ministry.
