KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 (Bernama) — Some 1,300 young and grassroots level athletes to rub shoulders at the third Malaysian Indian Sports (Sukim) from July 15 to 17 at University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Nilai.
The athletes, aged 23 years and below, will take part in the eight sports, namely football, hockey, athletics, badminton, karate, tennis, squash and kabaddi.
“The objective of Sukim is to encourage more youngsters to involve in sports besides unearthing talented athletes who can be groomed to become national athletes. This will be a platform for them to prepare for the Malaysia Games (Sukma),” the organising committee media officer, P. Mugunthan told Bernama. – Bernama
